Linh cảm ứng Quan Thế Âm

 Linh cảm ứng Quan Thế Âm

Thế gian pháp là: sắc thanh hương vị xúc pháp.

Lục nhập vào qua các cửa ngõ mắt tai mũi lưỡi thân ý. 

Sắc thọ tưởng hành thức khiến tâm viên ý mã...Ý tưởng rì rào trong não bộ là thế gian âm, như cuồng lưu.

Quán thế âm là hay biết, liễu tri chúng qua thanh lọc để tâm trí luôn làm lành, lánh ác và giữ tâm ý thanh tịnh.

Một khi bất kỳ một thế gian pháp nào đi vào mà tâm ý vẫn rỗng rang thanh tịnh không còn tham sân si ấy gọi là linh cảm ứng. Có thể nói là ứng phó với mỗi thế gian pháp thì tâm ý thọ nhận nó một cách rất tự nhiên, linh hoạt và thánh thiện...Tâm ý của Bồ Tát.

Suy nghĩ vớ vẩn

 Vua chúa ngày nào cũng ăn sơn hào hải vị, khẩu vị bị nhàm chán. Người làm việc vất vả kiệt lực muốn được nhàn hạ hơn. Người nhàn hạ, ăn xong lại ngủ nghỉ, tìm những thú vui vớ vẩn cho qua ngày giờ. Người rong chơi đó đây đến chẳng còn biết chỗ nào để đi cho vui. Người vì sợ bị lây nhiễm dịch bệnh bị giam hãm mình trong nhà một thời gian, bung ra đi đến những vườn hoa, những dòng suối cách xa mấy trăm dặm để chụp vài tấm hình. Những tù nhân mong được ra khỏi tù. Người đang sống tự do thoải mái lại vượt mức làm những chuyện xâm phạm đến tự do của người khác, của xã hội để bị vào tù. Người, ngày nào cũng vùi đầu vào sách vở, thu nhận, góp nhặt kiến thức thiên hạ, rồi khoe khoang kiến thức vì họ tưởng những kiến thức đó là của mình.


Hôm nay nghe được câu: "Nói trước bước không qua".


Trên thế giới hiện nay, May-31-2021, hàng tỷ người đau khổ, sợ hãi rồi khát khao có vaccine thì trong nước Mỹ (USA) vẫn còn khoảng 40% dân không chịu đi chích ngừa. Cái thằng 45 và parasites của hắn tung ra những thứ tàn phá nước Mỹ và đảng Cộng hòa chúng cùng nhau gom góp tiền của. Nước Mỹ chủ trương lưỡng đảng; vì làm cho đảng mình mạnh lên để cán cân chính trị cân bằng,...dân Mỹ thường thấy có những ngổ ngáo có thể chấp nhận. Tuy nhiên cái quá đáng và lố bịch của bọn 45 quá lộ liễu đang làm cho nước Mỹ không còn là nước tự do nữa mà quá xấu hổ vì náo loạn và vô trật tự.


Dịch chỉ là sự lan truyền, truyền nhiễm của vi trùng do động vật chuyên chở, gieo rắc vi trùng; động vật có thể là côn trùng cho đến con người. Nạn dịch covid-19 này lan truyền khắp thế giới vì những lý do gì? Vì nền văn minh giao thông, vì lòng háo hức của con người thích lúc nhúc, chen chúc qua lại đó đây cho ra vẻ ta đây lịch lãm. Nếu trên thế giới này không có máy bay, tàu thủy, tàu hỏa, xe hơi thì những con vi trùng đâu có cơ hội đi xa từ Wuhan đến mọi nơi trên địa cầu. Suy cho cùng thì các thứ văn minh cơ khí, giao thông chỉ là những vật vô tri, vô tội...Tội nhân là lòng người thích di chuyển qua lại, . Nói cho văn hoa là di chuyển, là giao thông; nhưng giả sử ta ở trên cao như từ các tòa nhà cao tầng; trên độ cao mà ta có thể thấy sự di chuyển này là lúc nhúc, chen chúc qua lại...Hoặc từ vệ tinh thấy luôn những vận chuyện của máy bay...tất cả di chuyển chỉ là lúc nhúc, bon chen do lòng háo hức...


Dịch có nghĩa là truyền nhiễm. Truyền là đưa đi, gieo rắc. Nhiễm là thụ nhận. Tác nhân là sinh vật (ruồi muỗi, côn trùng, súc vật, người), thụ nhận cũng là sinh vật...Covid-19 truyền đi qua môi trường không khí và hô hấp và lan rông tùy thuộc vào văn minh giao thông...Khác với những nạn dịch xưa kia lan truyền trong phạm vi nhỏ; thời nay, hiện đại, tân tiến...máy bay, xe, tàu; phương tiện nhanh và rộng rãi...toàn cầu bị truyền nhiễm...và con người có thể đổ thừa cho phương tiện giao thông tân tiến. Thực chất là do lòng háo hức, ưa thích nhúc nhích...lúc nhúc qua lại đó đây để khoe mình lịch lãm, thỏa mãn dục tính nào đó...


Trong quyển sách giáo khoa Anh văn lớp 12 ban C, có một bài viết về nhà chọc trời skyscraper tại Newyork...đại khái có đoạn nói đến quan sát sinh hoạt qua lại trên đường phố từ đỉnh của tòa nhà chọc trời ... "như những con bọ lúc nhúc, chen chúc qua lại"...


Góp nhặt:
Khư khư cho rằng đúng, cho rằng sai, không biết uyển chuyển làm cho người đau khổ nhưng thực ra là làm cho mình đau khổ hơn. Nghe như vòng vo, dài dòng nhưng lại là chuyện ở đời thường...Tựa như có ý khuyên trung dung, trung đạo.

Lời khuyên:

"Lòng con đã quyết xuất gia thì con ở đâu cũng được." Ông Hòa Thượng gà rù, gật gù vài chữ rồi...hah... hah... hah... chậm rãi bỏ đi. Ông ta có vẻ hài lòng hoàn tất một việc sau một thời gian sống chung.


Khi mình chê bai, chỉ trích, châm biếm, moi móc người khác, đa phần là phát xuất từ tâm Sân, tâm Đố kỵ, hay tâm Ngã mạn.

Morning Chant.

Morning Chants  ( Sitagu Buddha Vihara)
Opening:
Through many birth Samsara,
transmigrated without reward,
Seeking the house builder;
Suffering is birth again and again.
House builder, you are seen!
You shall not make this house again.
All your rafters broken,
Your roof beam destroyed.
Gone beyond the compounded, the mind,
Has attained the dissolution of craving.
Through many birthed-Samsara I wandered,
Seeking but not finding the builder of this house.
Sorrowful it is to be born again and again.
O House-builder, you are seen!
You shall not make this house again,
All your rafters are broken, your roofbeam shattered.
My mind has gone beyond the compounded; 
To the dissolution of craving it has come.

Because of ignorance, formations,
Because of formations, consciousness,
Because of consciousness, name and form,
Because of name and form, six fold base,
Because of six fold base, contact,
Because of contact, feeling,
Because of feeling, craving,
Because of craving, grasping,
Because of grasping, becoming,
Because of becoming, birth,
Because of birth, aging and death, sorrow, lamentation, pain, 
grief and despair arise.
Thus does this entire mass of suffering's
arising come to be.

SUNDAY
Invitation to the Gods.

Homage to him the Blessed One, the Worthy One,
the fully Enlightened One.

Who is tranquil, tranquil of mind,
with refuge in the three refuges,
Here or beyond the world
Deities from one sphere or another, 
Eager to accrue merit at all times, 
May these deities come,
Residing on pure gold-made, majestic Mt. Meru, 
Tranquility is the root of contentment,
Hear the pure words of the Sage the path in harmony.

In all realms,
Demons, deities and Brahmas,
What merit done by us,
Is the accomplishment for the benefit of all.

All, having rejoined in that,
As one in sasana delighting,
May they be free from negligence,
Distinguished in caring.

For the sasana and in the world,
May there always be prosperity,
The sasana and also the world,
May the deities always protect.

Together may all be happy,
With retinues if each,
Mat they be pain-free and joyful,
Together with all relatives.

From kings, from robbers,
From human beings, from non-human beings,
From fires, from floods,
from demos, from stumps,
from thorns, from constellations,
from epidemics, from false teachings,
from false views, from bad people, 
from wild elephants, horses, buffaloes, ogres, devils,
from various fears, from various diseases,
and from various disasters,
May they have protection.

Discourse on blessings.

What blessing, for twelve (years),
The deities together tried to find out,
They do not achieve well being'
The thirty eight-fold blessing.

Taught by the Deity of the deities,
Destruction all evil,
For the benefit of all worlds
Let us recite this blessings.
Thus I have heard: On one occasion the Blessed One dwells at Savathi in Jeta grove at Anathapindika's park. Now a certain deity, in the waning night, the surpassing splendor having illuminated the entire Jeta Grove, approached the Blessed One, Having approached, having paid respect to the Blessed One, he stood on one side. Having stood to one side, he addressed in verse the Blessed One:
Many deities and men,
Having pondered on blessing, 
Yearning for benefits,
Pray, tell me the highest blessing!

Non-association of fools,
Association of the wise,
Honor the honorable,
This is the highest blessing.

A suitable place of residence,
And past merit done,
And the right course for oneself,
This is the highest  blessing.

Vast learning and handicraft,
And a highly trained discipline,
And well-spoken speech. 
This is the highest blessing.

Attending to father and mother,
Care for wife and children,
Uncomplicated work,
This is the highest blessing.

Generosity and righteous conduct,
And care for relatives,
Blameless actions. 
This is the highest blessing.

To cease and abstain from evil,
And refraining from intoxicants,
Steadfastness in virtue.
This is the highest blessing.
Reverence and humility,
And contentment, gratitude'
Hearing Dhamma at due times.
This is the highest blessing.

Patience, composure,
And seeing the renunciants,
Discussing Dhamma at due times. 
This is the highest blessing.

Self control and the holly life,
Perception of the Noble Truths,
And the realization of Nibbana.
This is the highest blessing.

In worldly things of contact,
Whose mind does not flutter,
Sorrowless, stainless, secure.
This is the highest blessing.

Having done these things,
Everywhere not conquered,
Everywhere they reach happiness.
That for them is the highest blessing.

MONDAY
Jewel Discourse

Following the aspiration of the Thus-Gone,
ten perfections,
ten higher perfections,
ten supreme perfections,
altogether thirty perfections,
five great sacrifices,
practice for the sake of the world,
practice for the sake of relatives,
practice for the sake of Buddha.

With three practices,
in last life,
conception in womb,
birth, renunciation,
austerity,
under the Bodhi tree victory over Mara,
penetration to omniscience,
turning the wheel of the truth,
nine supramundane states,
Me having reflected upon all the Buddha's virtues,
Within three walls of Vesali,
Throughout the three watches of the night,
Performed, like Venerable Elder Anada,
Having established the mind of compassion,
The deities in the thousand billion universes,
For whom they accept,
What was in Vesali earlier.

The arising of disease, inhuman being, famine,
The three-fold fear,
He caused quickly to disappear. 
Let us recite this Paritta.
Whatever beings are here assembled,
Whether terrestrial or celestial,
May all these beings be happy,
And listen closely to my words.

Therefore, pay attention all you beings,
Show kindness to the woman-born,
Who day and night bring offerings,
Therefore guard them diligently,

Whatever treasure here or beyond,
Or in the heavens whatever precious jewel,
None id equal to the Perfect One,
In the Buddha is the precious jewel,
By this truth may there be well being.

Cessation, dispassion, deathless, sublime,
Which was discovered by the calm Sakyan sage,
There is nothing equal to that state,
In the Dhamma is the precious jewel,
By this truth may there be well being.

What purity the supreme Buddha praised,
Called concentration with immediate knowledge,
That concentration has no equal,
In the Dhamma is the precious jewel,
By this truth may there be well being.

Who, eight persons consciously praised, 
are these four pairs,
Those gift-worthy disciples of the well-Gone One,
Gifts among them are abundant fruit,
In the sangha is the precious jewel,
By this truth may there be well being.

Who with firm minds well intentioned,
Renunciate in Gotama's teaching,
Those of attainment having reached the deathless,
They enjoy supreme peace,;
In the sangha is this precious jewel,
By this truth may there be well being.

As a firm post grounded in the earth,
Cannot be shaken by the four winds,
So is the superior person, I say,
Who definitely sees the Noble Truths;
In the Sangha is this precious jewel,
By this truth may there be well being.

Who comprehend the Noble Truths,
Taught well by Him of deep wisdom,
Even if they are very negligent,
Do not take an eight existence;
In the Sangha is this precious jewel,
By this truth may there be well being.

For one who has attained to vision,
Three states are at once abandoned,
View of self, doubt,
Rules and rituals, to name a few,
Freed from the four states of misery,
He cannot do six kinds of evil deeds;
In the Sangha is this precious jewel,
By this truth may there be well being.

Though he might do some evil deed
By body, speech or mind,
He cannot hide it;
An impossibility for one who has seen the path.
In the Sangha is this precious jewel,
By the truth my there be well being.

Like woodland grove in blossom,
In the first heat of the summertime,
So is the sublime Dhamma that he taught,
Leading to Nibbana, the highest good,
In the Buddha is this precious jewel.
By this truth may there be well being.

The great knower, great giver and great bringer,
The unsurpassed one taught the great Dhamma.
In the Buddha is this precious jewel, 
By the truth may there be well being.

The past extinct, there is no new arising,
Their mind not drawn to future birth;
The seed destroyed, desires not growing,
The wise go out just like this lamp;
In the Sangha is this precious jewel,
By the truth may there be well being.

Whatever beings are here assembled,
Whether terrestrial or celestial,
The Tathagata is revered by Gods and men.
We salute the Dhamma; may there be well being.

Whatever beings are here assembled,
Whether terrestrial or celestial,
The Tathagata is revered by Gods and men.
We salute the Sangha; may there be well being.


TUESDAY

Metta-sutta

Through whose participation, the yakkhas,
Do not see fearful visions,
Regarding which a person making effort,
Day and night tireless.

And a sleeper sleeps comfortably,
And see no evil.
Thus from beginning endowed with value,
Let us recite this protective sutta.

To do by one skilled in goodness,
Who have realized that peaceful path:
Able and straightforward and upright,
Meek and mild, humble.

Contented and easy to support,
With few duties and gentle in manner,
Controlled in senses and prudent,
Modest, unattached to families.

Not performing any deed,
Which is the wise would later reprove.
May being be well or secure,
May all beings be happy.

Whatever living beings there may be,
weak or strong, without exception,
long or great,
Medium, short, small.

Visible or invisible,
Living nearby or far away. 
Already existing or coming being,
May all being happy.

May no one deceive another,
Nor despise anyone anywhere,
From anger, perception of conflict,  
Should anyone wish harm to no other.

As a mother of her own son,
would protect with her life her only son,
Even so toward all living beings,
One should cultivate a boundless mind.

And kindness for all the world,
One should cultivate a boundless mind,
Above and below and all around,
Unobstructed, without hatred and hostility.

Standing walking or sitting,
lying down when free from drowsiness,
One should stand firm in this mindfulness,
This is called abiding sublimely.

Not entering upon false view, virtuous,
endowed with vision,
One should remove desire for sensuality,
And surely not come again to the womb.

Aggregate Discourse

For all snake born ones,
Like divine charm and medicine,
Which destroy the frightful venom,
And the remaining dangers.

In the field of authority everywhere,
For all living beings,
It restrains in every respect,
Let us recite this Paritta.

Kindness by Virukkhas ( snakes) for me,
Kindness by Erapathas (snakes) for me,
Kindness by Chabyaputtas (snakes) for me,
And kindness by Kanhagotamakas (snakes).

By the footless toward me kindness;
Kindness by two-footed toward me,
By the four footed toward me kindness,
Kindness by many-footed toward me.

May a footless not harm me,
May a two-footed not harm me,
May s four-footed not harm me,
May me a many-footed not harm.

All creatures, all breathing ones,
And all beings without exception,
May they all see pleasant things,
Not any evil having come.

Immeasurable is the Buddha,
Immeasurable is the Dhamma,
Immeasurable is the Sangha,
But measurable are creeping creatures;
Snakes, scorpions, centipedes,
Spiders, lizards and mice.

Protection made by me, safeguards made by me,
So may all creatures go back,
I pay homage to the Buddha,
Homage to the seven Fully Enlightened Ones.

LOVING-KINDNESS (METTA SUTTA)
143. This is what should be done by one skilled in the good,
having made the breakthrough to that peaceful state:
he should be able, upright, and very upright,
amenable to advice and gentle, without arrogance. (1)

of few duties and a frugal way of living;
of peaceful faculties and judicious,
courteous, without greed when among families. (2)
145. He should not do anything, however slight,
because of which other wise people might criticize him.
May all beings be happy and secure;
may they be inwardly happy! (3)
146. Whatever living beings there are
whether frail or firm, without omission,
those that are long or those that are large,
middling, short, fine, or gross; (4)
147. whether they are seen or unseen,
whether they dwell far or near,
whether they have come to be or will come to be,
may all beings be inwardly happy! (5)
148. No one should deceive another,
nor despise anyone anywhere.
Because of anger and thoughts of aversion
no one should wish suffering for another. (6)
149. Just as a mother would protect her son,
her only son, with her own life,
so one should develop toward all beings
a state of mind without boundaries. (7)
150. And toward the whole world
one should develop loving-kindness,
a state of mind without boundaries—
above, below, and across—
unconfined, without enmity, without adversaries. (8)
151. Whether standing, walking, sitting,
or lying down, as long as one is not drowsy,
one should resolve on this mindfulness:
they call this a divine dwelling here. (9)
152. Not taking up any views,
possessing good behavior, endowed with vision,
having removed greed for sensual pleasures,
one never again comes back to the bed of a womb. (10)

This is what should be done

Unburdened with duties and frugal in their ways.
Peaceful and calm and wise and skillful,
Not proud or demanding in nature.
Let them not do the slightest thing
That the wise would later reprove.
Wishing: In gladness and in safety,
May all beings be at ease.
Whatever living beings there may be;
Whether they are weak or strong, omitting none,
The great or the mighty, medium, short or small,
The seen and the unseen,
Those living near and far away,
Those born and to-be-born —
May all beings be at ease!
Let none deceive another,
Or despise any being in any state.
Let none through anger or ill-will
Wish harm upon another.
Even as a mother protects with her life
Her child, her only child,
So with a boundless heart
Should one cherish all living beings;
Radiating kindness over the entire world:
Spreading upwards to the skies,
And downwards to the depths;
Outwards and unbounded,
Freed from hatred and ill-will.
Whether standing or walking, seated or lying down
Free from drowsiness,
One should sustain this recollection.
This is said to be the sublime abiding.
By not holding to fixed views,
The pure-hearted one, having clarity of vision,
Being freed from all sense desires,
Is not born again into this world. 

              
WEDNESDAY

Peacock Discourse.

Fulfilling the requirements of Awakening,
Born as a peacock,
With which provided protection
The great being wanderer in the forest.

Although those who tried for a long time,
Were not able to capture him
As a Brahma-charm proclaimed.
Let us recite this protective discourse.

There rises the sole king of vision,
Golden and illuminating the earth,
I pay respect to what is golden and illuminates the earth,
Today may we spend the day protected.

Those Brahmins, knowers of the vedas about all things,
Their homage to me, may they protect me
Homage to the emancipated, homage to emancipation,
Having done that paritta,
The peacock went about, a seeker.

There sets the sole king of vision,
Golden and illuminating the earth,
I pay respect to what is golden and illuminates the earth,
Today may we spend the night protected.

Which Brahmins, knowers of Vedas about all things,
I pay homage to them, may they protect me,
Pat homage to the Buddhas, pay homage to Awakening,
Homage to the emancipated, homage to emancipation,
Having done that paritta,
The peacock return home.

Quail Discourse

Fulfilling the requirements of Awakening,
Reborn a quail's birth,
With whose power jungle fire,
Diverted from the great being.

To Elder Sariputta,
Told by the world protector,
Lasting an aeon, a mighty fire,
Let me recite this discourse.

There are in the world the quality of virtue,
Truth, purity and compassion,
By the truth, I made,
A supreme realization of truth,

Having reflected upon the strength of the Dhamma,
Having remembered the previous Victors,
Leaning the strength of the truth,
I made a realization of truth.

There are wings that can't fly,
There are feet that can't move,
Mother and father leaving,
Fire, retreat!

Having made this statement of truth, me
The great the fire flaming up,
Averted by sixteen hectares,
Like fire reaching water,
There is nothing equal to my truth,
This is my perfection of truth.


 THURSDAY

Banner Discourse

By whose recollection,
A creature of the air,
Becomes established,
On the ground and everywhere.

From the network of all misfortunes,
Or from devils, robbers, enemies,
For the innumerable and ones liberated (from these)
Let us recite this protective discourse.

Thus have I heard: At one time the Blessed One was
dwelling at Savathi in Jeta grove Anathapindika's park.
The addressed the monks, "monks."
"Venerable sir" the monks replied to the Blessed One.
The Blessed One said this:

At one time, monks,
A god and titans battle was amassed.
Then, monks, Sakka, ruler of the gods,
Addressed the thirty three Gods;

If, sir, for gods gone on battle there should arise,
Fear, panic, and creeping of flesh,
Look up at that time at the crest of me banner,
The crest of my banner seen by you,
What arises as fear, panic, or
Creeping of the flesh, that will disappear.

If you do not look up to see the crest of my banner,
Then look up at the banner of Pajapati king of the gods,
The banner of Pajapati, king of gods, seen by you.
What arises as fear, panic, or
Creeping of the flesh, that will disappear.

If not able to look up at the banner of Pajapati, king of gods,
Then look up at the banner of Varuna, king of gods,
The banner of Varuna, king of gods, seen by you,
What arises as fear panic, or
Creeping of flesh, that will disappear.

If you are not able to look up at to see Varuna's banner,
Then look up at the banner of Isana, king of gods,
The crest of the banner of Isana, king of gods, seen by you,
What arises as fear, panic, or,
Creeping of the flesh, that will disappear.

Monks,
The crest of the banner of Sakka, lord of gods, seen,
Or the crest of the banner of Pajapati, king of gods seen,
Or the crest of the banner of Varuna, king of gods,seen,
Or the crest of the banner of Isana, king of gods, seen,
What arises as fear, panic, or
Creeping of the flesh, that may disappear, or it may not.

What is the reason for this? Because Sakka, lord of gods, is
Not without lust, not without hatred, not without delusion,
Is timid, given to panic, to fright, to running away.

I say to you, monks;
If, for you gone into the forest,
Or gone to the root of a tree, or gone to an empty place,
fear, panic and creeping of the flesh should arise,
Then on that occasion remember me and recollect:

Such indeed is that blessed one, worthy one,
The supremely Enlighten One;
Endowed with knowledge and virtue,
Well gone, knower of Worlds,
Peerless tamer and driver of the hearts of men,
The Enlightened One, the Blessed One.

Me, monks, remembered by you you,
What arises as fear, panic, or
Creeping of the flesh, that will disappear.

If you cannot remember me,
Then remember the Dhamma:

Well expounded is the teaching by the Buddha, to be
Self realized, with immediate fruit,
Inviting investigation, leading onwards
To be realized by the wise each for himself.

The Dhamma remembered by you,
What arises as fear, panic, or
Creeping of the flesh, that will disappear.

If you cannot remember the Dhamma,
The remember the Order, and recollect:

Of good conduct is Buddha's order of disciples,
Of upright conduct is Buddha's order of disciples,
Of the wise conduct is Buddha's order of disciples,
Of dutiful conduct is Buddha's order of disciples,
Namely, four pairs of persons, eight kinds of individuals,
These are Buddha's order of disciples,
Worthy of offerings, worthy of hospitality,
Worthy of gifts, worthy of reverential salutation,
An incomparable field of merits in the world.

The Order; monks, remembered by you,
What arises as fear. panic, or
Creeping of the flesh, that will disappear.

What is the reason for this? The Tathagata, monks, is an
arahant, Fully Enlightened, free of lust, hatred and delusion,
withou any timidity, panic or fear and does not run away,

Thus said the Blessed One, having spoken,
The Fortunate One, the teacher said further:

In forest or at root of tree or in empty places, monks,
Remember the Awakened One;
There will be no fear for you.

If you cannot remember the Buddha,
The best in the world, and leader of the herd,
The remember the Dhamma, the guide well- taught.

If you don't remember the Dhamma, the well-taught guide,
The remember the Order, the incomparable field of merit.

Thus for those taken refuge in the Buddha,
The Dhamma, and the Sangha, bhikkhus,
fear, panic,
and creeping of the flesh will not arise.


FRIDAY

Atanatiya Discourse. ( a place name)

With those of no faith in the protestor's,
Revered teachings,
With quick tempered nonhuman,
With always wrong doers.

With the four assemblies,
For non harming and protection,
Which the great hero has expounded,
Let us recite this paritta,

May you revere Vipassi,
The glorious visionary,
May you revere Sikhi,
Who has pity on all beings.

May you revere Vessabhu,
Cleansed austere,
Mat you revere Kakusandha,
Conqueror of Mara's army.

May you revere Konagamana,
The accomplished brahmin,
May you revere Kassapa,
Who is free in every respect.

May you revere Angirasa,
The glorious son of Sakyans,
Who preached this Dhamma,
Which is dispelling of all suffering.

Those who are emancipated in the world,
Who has insight (into things) as they are,
These persons never slander,
noble and without inexperience.

The benefactor of gods and men,
Who worship Gotama Buddha,
Endowed with knowledge and good conduct,
Noble and without inexperience.

These self Enlightened Buddhas,
Zillions of eras,
Are all equally peerless ones,
All Buddhas are powerful Ones.

All endowed with ten powers,
Equipped with courage,
All these know,
The supreme state of Enlightenment.

The lion's roar roaring,
They expounded competently to the audience,
They set in motion the noble wheel of brahmin law,
In the world not to be revered.

Equipped with the Buddha's Dhamma,
Of eighteen virtues are these patrons;
Born with thirty two major characteristics,
Bearing eighty minor characteristics.

Shine with surrounding hallo,
All these noble elephants,
These Buddhas all omniscient ones,
Conquerors with defilements exhausted.

Of great light, of great fire,
Of great wisdom and great power,
Most compassionate and industrious,
Benefactor's of all beings.

The lamps, the protectors, the footholds,
The secure haven of all creatures,
The transcendental goals, the relatives, the saviors,
The Refuges and well wishers.

For the divine and worldly,
They all are revered.
I, the feet with my head,
Worship theses Supreme Ones.

By means of word and thought,
I worship the Tathagatas,
Lying, sitting, standing,
Walking always.

May they always protect to be happy,
The Buddhas, the peace makers,
May you be protected,
To be liberated from all fears.

From all diseases emancipated,
May you be free from all scorching worries,
may you move beyond all animosity,
And may you be blissful.

By the power of their truth, virtue,
Patience, loving kindness, and mind,
May they protect us,
To be healthy and happy.

In the eastern region,
There are powerful great deities,
May they also protect us,
To be healthy and happy.

In the southern region,
There are great powerful gods,
May they also protect us,
To be healthy and happy.

In the western region,
There are great powerful dragon snakes,
May they protect us 
To be healthy and happy.

In the northern region,
There are great powerful ogres,
May they also protect us,
To be healthy and happy.

King Dhataratha in the east,
King Viruthaka in the south,
King Virupakkha in the west,
King Kuvera in the north,

These four kings,
Famous guardians spirits of the world,
May they protect us,
With health and happiness.

Residing in the sky and on the earth,
There are great powerful gods and dragons,
May they also protect us,
With health and happiness.

There are some powerful deities,
Residing in the teachings,
may they also protect us,
With health and happiness.

May all the dangers be eradicated,
My grief and illness disperse,
may there be no obstacles for you,
May these be bliss and long life.

To the one inclined to bowing,
Who constantly revere the elders,
These four things grow:
Longevity, beauty, happiness and strength.



SATURDAY

Angulimala Suttam

The perfection which is for the reciter,
A sitting-scrubbing-post washing,
The water destroys,
Likewise all danger.

A safe childbirth,
Which he accomplishes at that moment,
To Angulimala Thera,
Told by the world protector,
The great force of eons,
Let us recite this paritta.

Since I, sister,
Was born as Ariyan birth,
I do not recall deliberately depriving a living being of life,
By this truth may there be well being for you,
Well-being to your fetus,

Bojjh'anga Paritta, Awakening Factor Protection

In the transmigration of the transmigrating,
In the eradication of all suffering,
In the seven things, awakening factors,
In the suppression of the army of Death.

Having realized these seven ,
Those were liberated from three existences,
To the birthless, decay and diseaseless,
deathless, fearless gone.

Endowed at the beginning with qualities,
A collection of various qualities,
This medicinal charm,
Let us recite the factors of Enlightenment;

An awakening-factor is the mindfulness formation,
Likewise the investigation of phenomena,
Effort, delight, tranquility,
Likewise other awakening factors.

The awakening-factors concentration, equanimity,
These seven by the All seer;
By the Sage well expounded,
Cultivated, done repeatedly.

Inclining toward highest wisdom,
Nibbana and awakening,
By this affirmation of truth,
May there always be well being for you.

At one time, the Protector,
Moggallana and Kassapa
Having seen suffering and sick,
Taught the seven enlightenment factors.

They delighted in that,
Were liberated from sickness at that moment,
By this affirmation of truth,
May there always be well-being for you.

Once the King of Dhamma,
Afflicted by sickness,
The Elder Cunda even,
Having been asked to recite reverently.

And having delighted, from that sickness,
He rose up from that condition,
By this affirmation of truth,
May there always be well being for you.

The sickness eliminated,
For the three Great Seekers,
Defilements, affliction on the path,
Have the nature of non-arising,
By this affirmation of truth,
May there always be well-being for you. 


CONCLUSION

Virtues of the Buddha, Dhamma, Sangha.

Such indeed is that blessed one, worthy one,
The Supremely Enlightened One;
endowed with knowledge and virtue,
well gone, knower of the Worlds,
peerless tamer and driver of the of men,
Master of Gods and men,
The Enlightened One, the Blessed One.

Well expounded is the teaching by the Buddha, to be
self realized, with immediate fruit,
inviting investigation, leading onwards,
to be realized by the wise each for himself.

Of good conduct is Buddha's order of disciples,
Of upright conduct is Buddha's order of disciples,
Of wise conduct is Buddha's order of disciples,

these are Buddha's order of disciples,

Thus for those who remember Buddha, 
Dhamma and Sangha, monks,
Fear or panic or
creeping of the flesh will not be.


Good Morning

The unlucky omen, the inauspicious event,
the unpleasant scream of birds, the unlucky planets,
and bad nightmares,
may these be gone by the glory of Buddha.

The unlucky omen, the inauspicious event,
the unpleasant scream of birds, the unlucky planets,
and bad nightmares,
may these be gone by the glory of Dhamma.

The unlucky omen, the inauspicious event,
the unpleasant scream of birds, the unlucky planets,
and bad nightmares,
may these be gone by the glory of Sangha.

May suffering ones be be from suffering.
May the fear struck be free from fear,
May the grieving be free from grief.
So too may all beings be.


To such an extent,
we have accomplished meritorious gains,
May all the deities rejoice,
in this accomplishment.

May they give charity with devotion,
always preserve the precepts,
delight in meditation,
May all deities present return to their abodes.

By the power of all the Buddhas,
all pacceka Buddhas,
and all Arahants, who have attained brilliance,
I reaffirm the protection all around me.

What treasure here or beyond,
whatever precious jewel there be in the heavens, there is none
equal to the Tathagata. 
This precious jewel is in the Buddha,
By this truth, may there be happiness.

What treasure here or beyond,
whatever precious jewel there be in the heavens, there is none
equal to the Tathagata. 
This precious jewel is in the Dhamma,
By this truth, may there be happiness.
 
What treasure here or beyond,
whatever precious jewel there be in the heavens, there is none
equal to the Tathagata. 
This precious jewel is in the Sangha,
By this truth, may there be happiness.

May all blessings arise,
May all deities protect,
By the majesty of all Buddhas,
may they be happy always.

May all blessings arise,
May all deities protect,
By the majesty of all Dhammas,
may they be happy always.

May all blessings arise,
May all deities protect,
By the majesty of all Sanghas,
may they be happy always.

The most compassionate protector,
For the welfare of all beings,
Having fulfilled all Perfections,
Had attained the Supreme Enlightenment,
By this affirmation of truth,
May there always well bring for you.

The conqueror at the root of the Bodhi tree,
The most affectionate of the Sakyas,
Just so may victory be,
May victory be in the blessing of conquest.

On the un-vanquishable Seat, 
Above the summit of the most sacred earth.
Consecrated by all the Buddhas,
He had attained the peak and rejoiced.

On a day of good planets, good blessings,
Good dawn, good awakening,
Good moment, good instance, 
Good offerings to the Noble Sages.

May the physical act be sacred,
May verbal act be sacred,
May the mental act be sacred,
The mental act be sacred,
Aspiration be in theses sacred things.

Having done the sacred acts,
Obtained sacred results;
Having obtained results happily,
Prospering in the Buddha's teachings,
May you be without disease, happy,
Together with all kinsmen.

Having obtained results happily,
Prospering in the Buddha's teachings,
May you be without enmity, happy,
Together with all kinsmen.

Having obtained results happily,
Prospering in the Buddha's teachings,
May you be without confusion, happy,
Together with all kinsmen.

Having obtained results happily,
Prospering in the Buddha's teachings,
May you be without trouble, happy,
Together with all kinsmen.

Sharing the Merits

By this practice of the Dhamma, I pay homage to the Lord Buddha.
By this practice of the Dhamma, I pay homage to the Dhamma.
By this practice of the Dhamma, I pay homage to the Sangha.
By this practice, may I be free from birth, decay, disease and death.
By this merit of mine, may I attain Nibbana,
We share our merits with all beings. (3 times)

 Pray in a funeral.
Aniccā vata saṅkhārā
Uppāda vaya dhammino
Uuppajjitvā nirujjhanti
Tesaṃ vūpa samo sukho
Các hành là vô thường,
Có sinh phải có diệt
Ðã sinh, chúng phải diệt,
